The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.

The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each member has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a hostile place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This means them few options but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Seekers and Planners groups.

Viewers can anticipate finding out which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
